Brunswick Community College (BCC) is committed to global education!
Why did BCC choose EF College Study Tours? They have an educational and intentional approach to study abroad program design, which will benefit students and faculty, alike.
"Leading students on an EF Study Abroad program is more than just an incredible travel experience. When learners participate in our intentionally designed programs that leverage our Global Learning Model, they develop global competencies before, during, and after their in-country immersion—deepening learning and accelerating personal development. Our approach to program design, developed in consultation with leading industry experts using best practices, is grounded in learning outcomes and includes academic resources, curated experiences, and assessments." Why should students study abroad?
- Study abroad alums saw their GPA rise twice as quickly as a result of going abroad compared to those who did not.
- 92% of employers are looking for the skills and traits that students develop in study abroad settings.
- 93% of students who study abroad and entered the workforce were employed with 6 months of graduation, compared to 49% of those who did not study abroad.
- Students that travel tend to have higher salaries than those who do not.
- Students develop critical skills, such as confidence, curiosity, empathy, self-awareness, global perspective, cultural knowledge, adaptability, relatability and leadership.
- International exposure builds stronger connections between classmates/faculty, locations, and the world, which helps make a global citizen who respects and embraces diversity.
It is 20 days until departure for Belize. The BCC group met again, today, to finalize plans. The information has been posted from EF College Study Tours on accommodations and the travelers from another college, who will be joining us. We passed out backpacks and a planning guide, The Oyster. Everyone is getting excited!
Stay tuned and follow along on our adventure in learning!
